Faith in Jesus
The Bible tells us a story. Really, it tells us the story. It tells us about who were are, and where we came from. It tells us what our purpose is in this life, and most importantly, it tells us about the God of the universe.
Way back in the beginning, God created everything. He spoke everything into existence, including mankind. He called everything that he made “very good.” And it was very good. God created Man, and Women sinless and put them in a garden. In this place, death did not exist. There was no disease or murder. People didn’t steal from one another, it was perfect.
That was until it wasn’t perfect. The Man that was placed in the garden and the Women that was made with him sinned, and because of that sin, they were cast out from the garden separated from their God.
And so the story continues. From that point forward, Men and Women would live separated from their God—but thankfully, God in his great mercy created a way for the descendants of the first Man and Woman to be redeemed.
The story of the Bible is a story of Redemption. The Bible tells us where we came from, how we messed up, and how God fixed the problem. He fixed the problem by sending his Son. Like the first Man and Woman, we have all sinned, and are separated from our God. Death is the price of that sin.
The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that God is full of grace and mercy. He sent his only Son to die on a cross for anyone who believe in him. But the great news of the Bible is that the Son of God did not stay dead. Jesus rose from the dead proving he has power over death.
Acts 4:12 says there is no other name given by which people can be saved. Romans 10:9 says if we would repent of our sins, confess that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved.
The story of the Bible is not a hard one to understand. It tells how God loves his people even though they messed up. It tells just how much he loved us by sending his Son to die for us.
